Amazon has recalled 2 million portable space heaters sold through its marketplace after at least 45 house fires and 3 deaths were linked to overheating and electrical failures in the products.
Affected Products
The recall covers 23 brands of ceramic space heaters sold between 2023-2026, most manufactured by the same Chinese factory under different brand names. Products were priced between $20-50.
CPSC Warning
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the products lacked adequate safety certifications and that Amazon's marketplace controls failed to prevent their sale.
