Abbott Laboratories has recalled a specific lot of its FreeStyle Libre 3 continuous glucose monitoring sensors after reports of inaccurately low blood sugar readings. The FDA has classified this as a Class I recall due to the potential for patients to make incorrect insulin dosing decisions.
Approximately 120,000 sensors distributed between February and March 2026 are affected. Abbott is providing free replacement sensors and advising users to confirm glucose levels with a traditional fingerstick meter if readings seem inconsistent.
