Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 1.2 million F-150 pickup trucks from model years 2021-2024 after discovering brake line corrosion that could lead to sudden loss of braking capability.
The Defect
An internal investigation found that brake lines in affected trucks corrode prematurely when exposed to road salt, potentially causing brake fluid leaks. Ford has received 340 complaints and reports of 12 accidents linked to the issue.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace brake lines free of charge. Owners will be notified by mail starting May 1 with instructions to schedule service.
