Samsung has initiated a voluntary recall of 2.1 million smart TVs sold in the United States after receiving 142 reports of internal power supply units overheating, with 23 cases involving melting or smoke and 3 minor burn injuries.

Affected Models

The recall covers specific 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch models from Samsung's 2024-2025 Crystal UHD and QLED lineup.

Remedy

Samsung is offering free in-home power supply replacement by certified technicians, scheduled through Samsung's recall hotline or website. Until repaired, the CPSC recommends unplugging affected TVs when not in use. Samsung has identified a capacitor defect in the power supply board from a specific component supplier as the root cause.
