Dole Fresh Vegetables has issued a voluntary recall of several varieties of its bagged salad mixes distributed across 22 states after routine sampling detected the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects products with use-by dates between April 18 and April 25, 2026, sold at grocery stores including Walmart, Costco, and regional chains.

The affected products include Dole Classic Romaine, Dole Italian Blend, and Dole Hearts of Romaine in both 9-ounce and 12-ounce packages. The contamination was traced to a processing facility in Arizona where environmental testing identified Listeria in a packaging area. No illnesses have been confirmed in connection with the recalled products.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in pregnant women, elderly individuals, and people with weakened immune systems. Consumers who have purchased the affected products should discard them immediately. Dole says the Arizona facility has been shut down for deep cleaning and sanitization, and all products will be tested before production resumes.
