The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of approximately 1.2 million portable ceramic space heaters sold under multiple brand names at major retailers including Walmart, Target, and Amazon. The heaters pose fire and burn hazards due to a faulty thermal cutoff switch that may fail to deactivate the heating element when the unit overheats.

CPSC has received 89 reports of the heaters overheating, including 14 reports of fires that caused property damage totaling an estimated $2.3 million. Three consumers have reported minor burn injuries. The affected models were manufactured between January 2024 and November 2025 and sold for between $25 and $55.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heaters and contact the manufacturer for a full refund. A complete list of affected model numbers is available on the CPSC website.
