General Motors has issued a recall affecting approximately 340,000 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, and GMC Yukon SUVs from the 2022 through 2024 model years due to a potential brake line corrosion issue that could lead to brake fluid leaks. The defect was identified through warranty claim analysis that revealed higher-than-expected brake line replacement rates in vehicles operated in northern states where road salt is commonly used.

GM says the issue stems from a supplier-provided brake line component that did not meet the company's corrosion resistance specifications. No crashes or injuries have been reported in connection with the defect, though the company has identified 23 complaints involving reduced braking performance.

Dealers will inspect and replace the affected brake lines at no cost to owners, with notifications expected to begin in early May. Owners can check their vehicle's recall status through the NHTSA website using their VIN.
