Honda Motor Company has announced a recall of approximately 450,000 CR-V and HR-V SUVs from the 2024 and 2025 model years due to a potential brake system malfunction. The defect involves a faulty sensor that may intermittently disable the anti-lock braking system without warning.

The company identified the issue through warranty claim analysis and has not received reports of accidents or injuries related to the defect. Dealers will replace the affected sensor assembly at no cost to owners, with parts expected to be available beginning in May.

NHTSA is monitoring the recall and has opened a preliminary investigation to determine whether additional Honda models may be affected by the same component supplier issue.
