SafeRide Baby Products has recalled 85,000 infant car seats after discovering a manufacturing defect in the five-point harness system that could allow the chest clip to disengage during a collision. The recall covers the SafeRide Comfort Plus model sold between July 2025 and February 2026.
The defect was identified during internal quality testing and no injuries have been reported. However, NHTSA has classified the issue as a serious safety concern given the critical role of harness integrity in protecting infants during crashes.
Parents are advised to stop using the affected car seats immediately and contact SafeRide for a free replacement harness assembly. The company is providing loaner seats to families who need immediate alternatives while awaiting repair kits.
