A children's toy manufacturer has recalled approximately 120,000 magnetic building tile sets after discovering that small high-powered magnets can detach from the plastic casings, posing a serious ingestion hazard. Swallowed magnets can attract through intestinal walls, causing life-threatening injuries.
The recall affects sets sold at toy stores and online marketplaces between August 2025 and March 2026. One child has required emergency surgery after ingesting two magnets that separated from the tiles.
Parents are urged to immediately remove the recalled sets from children's access and contact the manufacturer for a prepaid shipping label and full refund. The CPSC continues to advocate for stricter magnet safety standards in children's products.
