An electric vehicle manufacturer has announced a recall of 42,000 sedans produced between January and November 2025 due to a defect in the battery cooling system that could lead to overheating during fast charging. The company identified the issue through telemetry data analysis.

In rare cases, the cooling system defect could cause the battery pack to enter a thermal protection mode that limits driving range and performance. No fires or injuries have been reported in connection with the defect.

Owners will receive an over-the-air software update that modifies charging behavior, followed by a hardware inspection at service centers to replace affected cooling components if necessary.
