A major automaker has issued a recall affecting approximately 185,000 SUVs from the 2022 through 2024 model years due to a brake line corrosion defect that could lead to reduced braking performance or complete brake failure. The recall covers vehicles sold in northern states where road salt exposure is highest.

The manufacturer discovered the issue through warranty claims and internal testing that revealed accelerated corrosion rates on brake lines manufactured by a specific supplier. No crashes or injuries have been reported to date.

Affected vehicle owners will receive notification by mail and can schedule free repairs at authorized dealerships. The fix involves replacing the brake lines with corrosion-resistant components at no cost to the owner.
