The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of approximately 1.5 million portable ceramic space heaters manufactured by Comfort Zone and sold at major retailers including Walmart, Home Depot, and Amazon. The heaters can overheat and ignite nearby combustible materials, posing serious fire and burn hazards.
CPSC has received 234 reports of overheating incidents, including 18 fires that caused property damage and 3 injuries requiring medical treatment. The affected models were sold between September 2024 and March 2026 and retail for between $30 and $60.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heaters and contact Comfort Zone for a full refund. The company has established a dedicated recall hotline and online portal for processing returns.
