The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled approximately 1.2 million portable phone chargers sold under the PowerMax and ChargeElite brand names due to overheating and fire hazards. The chargers were sold through Amazon and other online retailers between January 2025 and March 2026.
CPSC has received 47 reports of the chargers overheating, including 8 incidents involving minor burns and 3 reports of property damage. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chargers and contact the manufacturer for a free replacement.
The recalled models include 10,000 mAh and 20,000 mAh power banks with specific lot numbers listed on the CPSC website.
