Graco has recalled approximately 500,000 infant and toddler car seats after the CPSC determined that the harness buckle can become increasingly difficult to unlatch over time, potentially trapping a child in an emergency. The recall covers models sold between March 2024 and February 2026.
Graco will provide a free replacement buckle to affected consumers. In the interim, the company advises caregivers to test the buckle regularly and contact Graco immediately if the release mechanism becomes stiff or unresponsive.
The recall covers the SnugRide, SlimFit, and 4Ever models, which are among the most popular car seats in the United States.
